When you need a delicious side dish without a lot of fuss, cook up some broccoli in the air fryer!
The air fryer cooks broccoli to perfectly tender bites, with lovely roasted edges for the best combination of taste and texture. And, of course, the air fryer does it faster and more efficiently than your conventional oven. Win-win!
Ingredients Needed
How to make Broccoli in the Air Fryer
Start with a nice crown of broccoli and cut it into equal sized florets.
Place the florets into a bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
Toss the broccoli to distribute the oil. Season with a little salt and pepper, then toss again.
Transfer the broccoli to your air fryer basket. Spread out in a single layer if you can.
Air fry the broccoli at 400°F, for 8 to 10 minutes. The cooking time will depend upon the size of your florets, particularly the thickness of the stems. Try to pierce a stem with a fork to determine whether more cooking time is needed.
Also, you might need to extend the cycle if your air fryer basket doesn't have room for a single layer of florets. In that case, be sure to toss or shake the broccoli midway through the cycle to promote even cooking and browning.
Each air fryer is different, so be sure to adapt to the cooking nuances of yours. Once you have it dialed in, you'll be making your broccoli in the air fryer on repeat!
Variation Ideas
- Add a little garlic and/or onion powder for a different taste profile.
- A few red pepper flakes will add a touch of spice.
- Parmesan cheese is one of my favorites to add to roasted vegetables like this!
