    Air Fryer Breakfast Sausage Patties

    Nothing rounds out a simple breakfast like some delicious sausage patties. I like to buy them pre-formed at the store. And now I make them in my air fryer for the ultimate easy, hands free cooking!

    Instead of juggling 2 different skillets, or cooking sausages first, then the eggs while trying to keep the sausage warm, you can start the air fryer and let it do its work while you concentrate on the eggs and toast. Because you only have 2 hands for this!!

    How to Make Breakfast Sausage Patties in the Air Fryer

    You really only need some breakfast sausage patties, and maybe a little non stick cooking spray. If using the spray, treat your air fryer basket to prevent sticking. In my air fryer, I have found that the sausage patties have more than enough grease on their own, so I skip the spray.

    Place the patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer, not touching. The number you can fit will depend upon your own air fryer. I have a big and flat basket, so a whole package fits just fine. 😁

    Set the cycle to air fry for 10 minutes at 375°F. If your air fryer heats pretty evenly, like mine, you can just let it run for the full time without touching the patties. Or, if you prefer, you can flip the patties about halfway through the cooking cycle to promote even browning.

    Typically I let the cycle run for 10 minutes, then flip and air fry for 2 more if I want the patties to be a little more brown. This will be a function of your specific air fryer.

    Serving Suggestions

    Well, you know what you like for breakfast, right? A sausage patty on the side will make it a little more special. Egg bites (or eggs any way, really) are great with these patties. And pancakes are especially wonderful with sausage!

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What temperature is sausage when done?

    Properly cooked sausage will have an internal temperature of at least 145°F. If you have an instant read thermometer, you can use that to check the internal temperature. If not, cut into one of the patties to verify it is no longer pink.

    Can I cook frozen sausage patties in the air fryer?

    Yes! Just add an additional 2 minutes to the cooking time and air fry away!
