Sugar free honey lime salad dressing, a deliciously sweet and tangy salad dressing to add a little zip to your salads without all the sugar!

The right dressing can take a salad from mundane to magnificent. But salad dressings can also wreak havoc with your dietary goals. That's why I try to figure out ways to tweak recipes to make sugar free versions.

This honey lime dressing is a great example of that. The original recipe I started with used honey and granulated sugar. Since I'm trying to control my blood sugar spikes, I knew I needed to make some modifications.

The result is this delicious dressing. It's made without any refined sugar and you honestly cannot tell at all. I had my guy try it and he declared it delicious!

    Why This Dressing

It's sweet and tangy, blended smooth for a wonderful texture. Its a great way to add a touch of "different" to some greens, but its also fantastic on fruit. Drizzle some on pineapple or watermelon for a wonderful variation on fresh fruit!

    Ingredients Needed

Ingredients: Allulose honey, apple cider vinegar, grapeseed oil, Dijon mustard, lime for juice, Sugar substitute.

Key to this recipe's success are the sugar substitutes. I used Swerve brand erythritol, which seems to be pretty commonly stocked at most grocery stores these days.

The honey substitute I found on Amazon, the one I used was Allulose honey, which is a thinner texture but tastes remarkably like honey. I also want to try a Monkfruit honey which I think will be just as yummy.

How to Make This Honey Lime Dressing

Homemade salad dressings are so easy! Once you try it, you'll realize you've been missing out!

Simply add all the ingredients to a small blender or food processor.

The one I use is a blender type attachment to my immersion blender, and I just love how well it mixes up small batches like this.

You only need to blend for about 30 to 60 seconds on high speed.

    mixture blending.

The result is a silky-smooth dressing, all set to use. Pour it into a small jar with lid for storage in the fridge.

I love it on watermelon and pineapple, so far. More combinations will be tried!
