Delicious avocado toast with tomato and balsamic glaze.

Avocado toast is an easy savory breakfast option that will satisfy your morning hunger. Making avocado toast with tomato will make your taste buds dance: sweet, tangy, creamy, and delicious!

    Why This Recipe

I need a breakfast that will help stabilize my blood sugar for the morning, and that I can make in a hurry for those busy on-the-go days.

This avocado toast is perfect for breakfast or even a midday snack. It's quick, easy, and super healthy. The best combination!

    Ingredients Needed

Ingredients for avocado toast: whole grain bread, avocado, heirloom tomato, and balsamic glaze.
Reminder to scroll to the recipe card for detailed quantities.

How to Make Avocado Toast with Tomato

Avocado toast starts with - you guessed it - toast. To keep it healthy, choose a whole grain bread, one that you love. Lately I've been buying the Pepperidge Farm 15 Grain bread, which toasts up really well.

Whatever you do, read the label before choosing your bread to be aware of the carb and fiber content per slice. A side by side comparison at the grocery store can be very educational!

While the bread is toasting, Prep your toppings. Cut the avocado in half and cut a slice of the tomato. If you find a nice large heirloom tomato like I did, you'll only need one slice for your toast. ❤️

Once the bread is toasted, make a layer of avocado to cover it. I like to make thin slices of the avocado with a butter knife that are then easy to remove and place on the toast.

Add the slice of heirloom tomato.

One option here is to simply add a little salt and some extra virgin olive oil. This makes an easy and delicious avocado toast.

But I have grown to love the addition of balsamic glaze. It add that delicious touch of sweetness and tang that only balsamic vinegar can deliver!

Every bite is a true delight!

    Variations and Substitutions

Once you start making avocado toast, you realize how incredibly customizable it is!

You can use cut up cherry or grape tomatoes in place of the big slice of heirloom tomato. This requires a little more prep time but it does make it easier to cut and eat.

I suggested salting above, but I sometimes just love to add some Everything But the Bagel seasoning for a delightful touch.
